Slow iPhone Sales Have Apparently Put Apple’s Marketing Team in a Tizzy

Apple originally stated in their Canadian iPhone XR press release an original clear case was coming for $55, but it did not launch at the same time as the smartphone, which doesn't make sense for initial sales.

Given there are a variety of other clear cases available for Apple's colourful iPhone from third-party accessory makers, the price tag for the XR's official see-through enclosure is a tough sell. For the iPhone X, Apple will charge $69 to replace the battery.

The new iPhone promotions come as Apple ends its practice of reporting iPhone unit sales, which it had done since launching the first iPhone in 2007. Apple isn't exactly known for offering such steep discounts on its products, so it can be assumed that the iPhone XR is really struggling to gain traction with customers.

Ultimately, as Bloomberg points out, these are just the latest indications from Apple that its 2018 iPhone models aren't selling as effortlessly as we've witnessed in the wake of previous iPhone launches. Interestingly, if that's the case with the "affordable" iPhone XR, it can be assumed that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, which are more expensive, aren't really selling that well either.

Apple's iPhone suppliers just won't stop reporting worrying results. It will work much the same way as Apple's student and corporate shopping portals do.

Apple is said to be ready to offer subsidies to operators to discount the iPhone XR in Japan. Samsung-an Apple rival but also a supplier of memory chips and screens for iPhones-fell by 2.3%. The iPhone XR arrives in six color options and honestly it may be the best option for the masses.
