Notre Dame To Meet Clemson In College Football Playoffs

ESPN announced the game times for the December 29 playoff semifinals Sunday afternoon and the Tigers (13-0) will take on No. 3 Notre Dame (12-0) at 4 p.m. on ESPN. To have an opportunity to get together with our team and celebrate with all of our families, this is a big deal. "We've been on a journey here the last couple years to put our football team back in this position".

Although Notre Dame is no newcomer to national television with its NBC coverage and bowl game history, for numerous players, this game is the fulfillment of all their dreams.

The two winners will play at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., (San Francisco Bay Area) on January 7, 2019 for the national title.

This is Clemson's fourth consecutive College Football Playoff berth. But we know what we're going to get. After Kirby Smart's team jumped out to a big first half lead, the freshman quarterback took over for Bama and staged a historic comeback as the Tide won in an overtime classic in Atlanta. Book has 19 touchdowns and six interceptions.

In the 24 years since then, Notre Dame has failed to win a major bowl.

Richard Sherman not sentimental about former Seahawks teammates
I suspect many who questioned the signing have since changed their opinion, with Sherman being the 49ers' most productive corner. The San Francisco 49ers' record sits at 2-9 right now.

Despite the hype and fanfare that's expected to surround this game, Kelly is intent on keeping his team focused and carrying its momentum from the past month into the new year. The Irish have played in the Cotton the most with seven appearances, where they are 5-2. "To be able to go on the road to some of the venues that they've had to go and win at, just congratulations to them". Heck, there's been reason to look forward to the title game since before the start of the 2018 regular season.

The two teams last met in 2015 at Clemson with the Tigers hanging on for a 24-22 home victory. "We'll be in a great, dry environment, and it should be a lot of fun".

This time, Oklahoma bested Georgia and Ohio State in the eyes of the committee, which - after a debate that chair Rob Mullens described as "deep, detailed and occasionally contentious" - picked the Sooners to face No. 1 Alabama in the December 29 Orange Bowl.

No. 2 and ACC champion Clemson (13-0) will face No. 3 Notre Dame (12-0) December 29 in the Cotton Bowl, while No. 1 and SEC champion Alabama (13-0) will vie for its sixth national title in the last 10 years when it competes the same day against No. 4 and Big 12 champion Oklahoma (12-1) in the Orange Bowl.
