Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder

It was the final round and in the eyes of most of the people watching, Deontay Wilder had just done enough to separate his opponent Tyson Fury from his consciousness. "I thought I won the fight".

Judge Alejandro Rochin turned in an eyebrow-raising scorecard of 115-111 for Wilder, Robert Tapper had it 114-112 for Fury, and Phil Edwards scored it 113-113 - even. concurred with Tapper, giving Fury a 114-112 score.

Wilder, the more aggressive of the two fighters early on, quickly moved into the lead after the opening rounds. "Only God knows how he got back up".

Tyson Fury appeared to be out cold on the canvas after eating a right hand and a crushing left hook from WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in the 12th round. "Let's give the fans what they want to see".

And the razzmatazz before the fight for the WBC world heavyweight title, technical ability shown by both Fury and Wilder during it, and the dramatic finish and inability of the judges to pick a victor, has fuelled Parker's hunger. "We poured our hearts out tonight".

Former two-weight world champion Andre Ward wrote on Twitter: "A draw, I understand (even tho I feel Fury won by a 2 or 3 rds)". I was forcing my punches too much.

"I'm not going to sit here and complain, and scream robbery or whatever", Fury said. I never had it easy, I had to work for whatever I got. "I don't know how he got up", the 33-year-old added.

A league source said the NFL asked the hotel for it twice and was told the hotel would only release it to law enforcement. The Washington Redskins picked up Reuben Foster despite another team cutting him for domestic violence charges.

Following personal battles with depression, alcohol and drug misuse, the 30-year-old heavyweight nearly completed the ideal comeback in Los Angeles against Deontay Wilder this morning - denied only by what many consider to be a dubious tied scorecard from the judges.

Speaking after the fight, a bruised Fury made an impassioned speech into the camera that will no doubt motivate countless viewers to keep battling their own demons.

Fury seemed to take the result in good spirits though, especially knowing that a rematch is all but a certainty.

Since then, he has been the third longest reigning WBO heavyweight champion.

Saturday night in Los Angeles, one of the biggest heavyweight showdowns in recent memory will take place.

After just two comeback bouts the announcement that he would fight for the world title did surprise most and the Gypsy King was always going to be the underdog going into the opening bell.
