S'Africa Fears Nigerian Fans Will Outnumber Hosts At Stadium

Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter claims that his charges weren't fearless enough against Nigeria in the second half, following their 1-1 draw at the FNB Stadium.

A point will be enough to secure Nigeria's qualification for next year's African Cup of Nations, while Bafana Bafana may need to win to guarantee their qualification.

The four-time African champions can still be passed by South Africa or Libya, but cannot end lower than second in group E.

In a video below eNCA's Tim Modise explores whether the team is worthy to rally behind.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement following Nigeria's 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Johannesburg on Saturday.

South Africa beat the Super Eagles 2-0 in Uyo a year ago in the first match of the qualifiers.

Lloris concedes France could have lost by much more against the Dutch
Depay doubled the lead with a "Panenka" penalty in stoppage time , chipping the ball over Lloris to complete a memorable victory. Macedonia remain top of that group - and are 90 minutes away from the play-offs - thanks to a 2-0 win in Liechstenstein.

The opening goal for Nigeria came through an own goal from Buhle Mkhwanazi.

On the other hand, the Eagles need only a draw to put them in a good stead to qualify for the 2019 AFCON in Cameroon.

"Our system when we play three behind is because we want to be close together, to let them come and these conditions were very hard", he said.

Okocha, who represented the Super Eagles 75 times, is hopeful for an exciting match.

"We had some problems in the first half, especially on the left side, but we played better in the second half and had some counter-attack opportunities". Perhaps if [Odion] Ighalo was here we could have scored more goals, but we are satisfied with this result.

They are now on seven points, two adrift of Stuart Baxter's men who need at least a draw.
