Ross From ‘Friends’ Lookalike Caught, And Police Thank David Schwimmer

An appeal for information from the UK's Blackpool Police went viral in October after fans of the sitcom "Friends" noted the suspect being sought by police were chasing for a robbery bore an uncanny resemblance to Schwimmer's character in the hit show.

"Officers, I swear it wasn't me", wrote Schwimmer with his Instagram video (watch it below). "As you can see, I was in NY", he wrote.

Lancashire Police said Tuesday that a 36-year-old man had been arrested in London on suspicion of theft. The Lancashire department made a special note of thanking Friends' actor David Schwimmer for his support.

Authorities wanted to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the September 20.

Following the appeal we posted looking for a man who resembles a well-known actor, we now have an update.

You might remember from a few weeks back, but in case you don't, Blackpool police were on the lookout for a man who stole beers from a shop.
