Why Anthony Martial will be key against Manchester City

Why Anthony Martial will be key against Manchester City

If we don't win, always we fail. Manchester United will be travelling to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday knowing very well that a loss could all but end their title hopes.

The Red Devils came from 1-0 down to secure a 2-1 win at Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night to continue to build momentum under Mourinho.

The Red Devils may now be nine points below their neighbours from the blue part of Manchester, but a win could sway a lot of things in their favour.

The Brazilian was courted by Manchester City last January and Fred spoke to Fernandinho - who made the move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester in 2013 - about a move to the north-west.

Pep Guardiola's side has won each of their last six games in all competitions, including netting six goals in their last two.

As the '90s pop group continue to dominate entertainment headliners, it seems that it was actually neither of these reasons. Ross commented drily: "Having said that, I think you still should have offered her the opportunity".

City have a large Brazilian contingent with Fernandinho joined by compatriots Ederson, Gabriel Jesus and Danilo, but Fred is closest with Fernandinho and the 33-year old has put club rivalry aside to help the United new boy settle in the north-west.

The Red Devils are looking to win back-to-back games at The Etihad for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down as manager.

Nonetheless, it was not enough to prevent Guardiola's men from running up an unprecedented century of points and, if anything, City look even more menacing, even more in tune with each other this term.

"Since the days of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, United have struggled to get a settled two and I'm sure as soon as Mourinho has the opportunity he will change the two he has now for different ones", said Dunne, speaking exclusively to 888sport.

Richard Dunne certainly has a point as going into this round of fixtures, Manchester United have the worst defensive record among the top 14 sides in the league and one certainly wouldn't expect that of a Jose Mourinho side. He has tried painting too "but I'm not very good at it" he said with a laugh.
