Anthony Martial: Man Utd forward recalled by France

Anthony Martial: Man Utd forward recalled by France

Martial has completed an unlikely U-turn at Manchester United this season, winning the club's October Player of the Month award despite his agent suggesting he had no future at Old Trafford over the summer.

Martial has scored five goals in his last six games for United and was picked for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture with Holland and the friendly with Uruguay.

The 22-year-old who was omitted from the World Champions squad for Russian Federation 2018, will be looking to add to his 18 caps and establish himself with Les Blues with consistent performances, - which Deschamps eluded to.

"I never gave up", Mourinho told MUTV.

"He is getting more mature and it shows on the field". It is up to his talent, because he has phenomenal talent.

The France global scored 17 times in his debut campaign in the Premier League after Martial netted on his debut in Manchester United's 3-1 win over bitter rivals Liverpool FC in September 2015.

The president said that the bad blood between him and the media was the fault of journalists showing insufficient deference. Jim had his White House press credentials removed due to a fight over the microphone while at the same press conference.

France coach, Didier Deschamps, acknowledged Martial's ability to overcome his lack of consistency to rekindle his best form in recent times.

"It was just a question of him understanding what a top player is because there is a big difference between a top talent and a top player".

After threatening to leave Manchester United in the summer, the Frenchman seems to have convinced Jose Mourinho about his quality and has been the in-form attacker over the last few weeks.

"It's obvious by Jose Mourinho's choice [to make Martial a first-teamer] and what he's doing on the pitch".

"United always finds the money when it is in the best interests of the club, and keeping Martial is a top priority at this current time".

He will be hoping to add to his 18 global caps in Rotterdam next Friday and against Uruguay at the Stade de France on November 20.
