With weather changes comes the inevitable start to flu season, if you are still debating whether to get your flu shot or not this year, here are some truths you should know about getting vaccinated.

Local doctors are stressing the safety of the flu vaccine after a study found some parents remain skeptical about the shot. You should get a flu shot that is not only for your own health, but for the health of others.

The flu vaccine should be mandatory for healthcare professionals who work in high-risk areas, such as intensive care, cancer wards and emergency departments.

The flu vaccine helps to prevent the flu or the severity of the illness if contracted.
