Alexa’s Whisper Mode rolls out to Echo speakers

Alexa’s Whisper Mode rolls out to Echo speakers

With it, you can now whisper to your Echo and Alexa will whisper back.

Whisper Mode does pretty much what it says on the tin.

Whisper Mode is reportedly powered by the same technology behind Alexa Guard, which recognises smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and glass breaking, turning Alexa into a home security system.

Bills to start QB Derek Anderson against Colts
The injury leaves the Bills (2-4) turning to the 35-year-old Anderson, preparing to make his first start in almost two seasons. Buffalo signed veteran pivot Derek Anderson to a contract last week and is an option to start on Sunday.

Whisper mode will likely be most useful around children, whether it's to get the kids in the mindset that it's bedtime and they should be quiet, or to avoid waking a sleeping child. As reported by TechCrunch, it will soon be possible to communicate with the AI entirely via whispers. Instead, Whisper Mode is only available in the United States and it's only compatible with US English for now. There's no word on when it'll launch in other regions, but hopefully it's something Amazon is working on.

It's been a long time coming, but you can now whisper to your Amazon Echo and Alexa will literally whisper back to you.
