Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson break up, call off engagement

Ariana Grande has reportedly called off her engagement to comedian Pete Davidson.

The 25-year-old songstress and 24-year-old SNL cast member split over the weekend, according to TMZ.

The pair announced their engagement in May just a few weeks after they had started dating.

One Twitter user wrote at the time: "Pete Davidson covered his risky woman tattoo, a tweet announcing the breakup with the notes app is coming!"

TMZ was told the two still have love for each other, but things are over romantically.

Ariana Grande shocked fans when she cancelled her performance at the Barbara Berlanti Heroes Gala in L.A. on October 13 and it's all because of the grief she's still going through after her ex Mac Miller's sad death. TMZ originally reported the news, and a source close to Grande confirmed it to PEOPLE, saying the decision was mutual.

Scooter continued, "And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today".

In the wake of the emotional roller coaster, it appears Grande's relationship with now-former fiancee Pete Davidson has fallen apart.

'I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can't go anywhere, ' he said during an appearance on SNL. As the son of a firefighter who died in 9/11, fans considered Davidson a great match for Grande who - in the wake of the Manchester bombing - has been enduring her own trauma.
