Over $24 Million In Cocaine Found In Donated Boxes Of Bananas

The unexpected came amid a donation of 45 boxes of bananas that were donated to the TDCJ on account of being already ripe, reports Sky News.

"They snipped the straps, pulled free the box, and opened it up".

You never know what you're going to get in life, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) found that out for themselves when they discovered almost $18 million worth of cocaine underneath a shipment of bananas Friday.

The Ports of America in Freeport, 60 miles south of Houston, offered the fruit to the authorities because no one claimed them, Houston's KHOU-TV reported.

Queen of the World will premiere on September 25 at 9:15 p.m. on ITV in the U.K. and on October 1 at 9 p.m. on HBO in the United States.

According to a Facebook post on the TDCJ's page, when two sergeants of the Scott Unit arrived to pick them up they "discovered something not quite right". The substance tested positive for cocaine.

"Inside, under a bundle of bananas, he found another bundle!"

A thorough search of all 45 boxes in the shipment unearthed a shocking 540 packages of the powder, which US Customs agents confirmed was cocaine. And sometimes, it gives you something you'd never expect!'

U.S. Customs and Drug Enforcement are investigating.
