Sony Unveils PlayStation Classic Retro Console

Sony Unveils PlayStation Classic Retro Console

The PS Classic console will be 45% smaller than the original PlayStation and will come pre-loaded with 20 games, according to Sony's official announcement. As far as adding more games to the PlayStation Classic is concerned, Sony appears to be following Nintendo's NES and SNES Classic footsteps by having no plans to add additional games after the classic console is released.

"There are no plans to bring new content to PlayStation Classic post-launch", a PlayStation spokesperson said. However, it would be insane for the system to not include at least one title representing what was arguably the system's mascot, so Crash Team Racing would make for a logical way to include the ridiculous bandicoot in some capacity on the system, aside from it being a fantastic kart racing game in its own right.

The concept has been so successful, that Sony have straight-up copied it and announced a PlayStation Classic, coming in time for Christmas.

According to Chatzaki, residents and tourists should not worry about the webs for long, the spiders will die soon. Experts said that the scene was created by a type of spider that feeds on the mosquito population in the area.

As for the lineup itself, PlayStation is not yet revealing the other games as of this time. For some, these five titles may be enough to justify the PlayStation Classic's price tag, but it's worth pointing out that 15 more games are on the way. While PlayStation didn't confirm or deny whether these remakes affected the list, the spokesperson did offer some insight into the selection process. Sane Trilogy, the likelihood of the original games appearing on the PlayStation Classic seems a bit low.

"The 20 titles launching with the PlayStation Classic were selected due to their popularity amongst original PlayStation fans", the spokesperson told IGN.
