Sexual assault probe of California physician, girlfriend expands

A Southern California prosecutor says his office has received leads to more than 12 possible additional victims in the investigation of a surgeon and a female companion already charged with drugging and raping two women.

'Ladies, please be careful when you meet people on these kinds of apps, ' Rackauckas said during a press conference on Friday. "You don't know what's behind that - what appears to be a flawless smile".

Some videos show women who "appear to be highly intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or resist, and they're barely responsive to the defendant's sexual advances", Rackauckas said.

"We're expanding our inquiries to several states as well as other parts of California", he said, adding that in the case of Robicheaux, investigators are examining possible crimes dating back 20 years.

Robicheaux - who once appeared on the Bravo television show "Online Dating Rituals of the American Male" - and Riley are due to be arraigned on October 25.

The district attorney said investigators want to talk to Robicheaux's patients, though so far there is no evidence any incidents happened in a medical setting.

Robicheaux was also charged with possession of an assault weapon, and faces a special enhancement of being armed with a firearm during a health and safety code violation.

Before Grant William Robicheaux was accused of rape, he charmed audiences on a reality TV dating show, lamenting how hard it was for a busy surgeon like him to meet the right woman.

Thousands affected by technical glitch at Barclays bank
The problem comes just months after a prolonged period of IT troubles left TSB customers locked out of their bank accounts. Customers were told: "You should still be able still make payments to existing payees through mobile banking".

Their attorneys released a statement Tuesday, "unequivocally" denying all allegations of non-consensual sex. They are now free on a $100,000 bond each.

"Dr. Robicheaux and Ms. Riley believe that such allegations do a disservice to, and dangerously undermine, the true victims of sexual assault, and they are eager to have the proper spotlight shed on this case in a public trial", the statement read. "They both thank their families and friends for their continued support".

Six months later, prosecutors say, another woman alleged the couple sexually assaulted her at the apartment after she got drunk at a bar with them.

When the charges were announced, officials said there may be hundreds of other victims, noting that the defendants often traveled together to various festivals and locations since 2015, including the Burning Man festival, the Dirtybird Campout festival, and landmarks near Page, Arizona.

The documents also show one of the two women who went on a date with Robicheaux told police she had met he surgeon and his girlfriend on a boat docked in the harbour.

"There are thousands and thousands of videos and images on Robicheaux's phone", Rackauckas said earlier this week.

Robicheaux and Riley are expected in court next month.
