McConnell says Kavanaugh ‘will be’ on court soon

Even though Brett Kavanaugh is still in the middle of a firestorm thanks to Christine Blasey Ford's sexual assault allegations against him, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is apparently quite confident this will not stop the judge's rise to the Supreme Court.

Ford says she believes the attack happened sometime around 1982, and has indicated that she is willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee who will decide whether or not to confirm Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court.

Can the Senate Judiciary Committee enlist the FBI to investigate the claims of sexual assault brought by an accuser against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, nominee to the Supreme Court?

It's abundantly evident Trump is sending a signal to his base that this is all a ruse, and occasionally throwing in a "Hey, we should let her testify" doesn't really change that.

But Katz wrote that "Monday's date is not possible and the committee's insistence that it occur then is arbitrary in any event". Kavanaugh was seen at the White House on Thursday.

"Senate Republicans are attempting to make Dr. Blasey Ford testify on just a few days' notice - without having the Federal Bureau of Investigation follow up on her allegations and provide a report first", said the letter, which was spearheaded by Sens.

Ford's lawyers had said on Tuesday she would testify only if the FBI first investigated her allegation.

Ford's legal team has said she strongly prefers that her allegations are fully investigated before she testifies.

In an interview with Good Morning America , Cook was asked about the $1,099 starting price for the forthcoming iPhone XS Max. Cook thinks Facebook's Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal is so big that it warrants "well-crafted regulation".

The battle for confirmation comes just weeks before congressional elections on 6 November.

Blasey Ford has been reluctant to testify since she came forward on Sunday with her allegation, which threatened to derail the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for the US Supreme Court. Senate judiciary staff has reached out to some outside female prosecutors about questioning Kavanaugh and Ford at the hearing, but no one has been hired for this role yet.

Ford has told the panel she would prefer the committee not use outside counsel to question her because that would make it seem too much like a trial, the attorney told the panel. Because Ford's accusation is already public, Grassley argued that it was appropriate for the Senate to step in with their own investigation as lawmakers did when the Hill allegation first became public.

"After reports of the letter surfaced last week, Feinstein released a statement, saying she had received the letter".

No decisions have been made on if Ford's requests will be honored.

A number of women who say they have known and worked with Kavanaugh throughout his legal career say he has been respectful and fair in dealing with them. Ford alleges Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 30 years ago when they were teenagers. She identified four people as being at the party, including Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge, but "none of the four lived in the vicinity of the Columbia Country Club", Whelan tweeted.

One of the four has yet to be publicly identified.

Republican and Democratic Judiciary Committee staffers spoke with Katz and Ford attorney Lisa Banks by phone on Thursday to negotiate on a potential hearing for next week. In the poll, conducted from September 11-17, 36% of U.S. adults surveyed did not want Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, up 6% points from a similar poll a month earlier, while 31% favored Kavanaugh's appointment.
