Browns' Gordon (hamstring) out vs. Saints

Tune in to see if the Browns can finally get that elusive first win since the 2016 season.

The Cleveland Browns announced they would release Gordon on Saturday and the reasons why are beginning to trickle out.

The fact that Cabot is reporting Gordon was "not himself" is a really bad sign for a guy who has struggled with substance abuse issues for years. The Browns ruled him out for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints before deciding to release him.

The Browns also will be without starting linebacker Christian Kirksey (shoulder/ankle) and tight end Seth DeValve (hamstring) on Sunday.

That's enough to fill the Chesapeake Bay or cover the entire state of Texas with almost 10 centimetres of water, he calculated. The Neuse River rose rapidly, overcoming the streets of New Bern . "WE ARE COMING TO GET YOU", the city tweeted around 2 a.m.

For Gordon, the injury is latest setback for the former Pro Bowler who has played in just 10 games since 2014 because of multiple drug suspensions.

He will finish his Browns career with his final catch as a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Week 1 tie.

He sat out the first 11 games previous year before returning for Cleveland's final five games. He missed three weeks of training camp this summer to undergo counseling and treatment, and he recently said he was in a good place mentally and physically. Week 2 takes them to Louisiana, where they will play against the New Orleans Saints, who now own a 0-1 record.

Gordon started the opener despite coach Hue Jackson saying he wouldn't be on the field for the first snap as punishment for missing camp. Jackson blamed Gordon's appearance on the first play to a "mistake" and "miscommunication".
