Botham Shem Jean: Police 'trying to smear' shooting victim

Even Dana Loesch, the NRA spokeswoman who recently faced criticisms of her own after saying that Jean might still be alive if he was a "law-abiding gun owner", took offense to the framing of the tweet.

"Dallas police needs to send the message that there's no place for a woman like that", Jean family attorney Lee Merritt said in a Friday press conference.

Perhaps one of the louder moments of applause came when O'Rourke addressed the fatal shooting of Botham Jean by the hands of Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger. This would not be the first time Fox has attempted to smear a victim of police brutality.

- Ida Bae Wells (@nhannahjones) September 13, 2018There is literally no scenario where a black man killed by police (even an off-duty one) can not be blamed for his own death.

Another search warrant allowed investigators to collect communications from property management connected to the shooting and seize the logs from access doors and gates and an elevator access door lock as well as a lock audit report for each of their apartments, the WFAA story stated. The warrant was for the search of incriminating evidence like weapons or drugs, as if that would give some justification as to why a police officer essentially broke into his home and shot him.

In fact, there's two things that the iPhone X has that the iPhone XR doesn't: 3D Touch, and a dual-camera setup on the back. That said, I absolutely love the color choices available on the iPhone XR right now.

Police then gained a search warrant for the home and found 10.4 grams of marijuana, according to an affidavit.

And, of course, let's not ignore the racial bias that exists around marijuana in general. She has told investigators that she mistook Jean's apartment for her own, which is one floor below Jean's. That would be the only complexity added. "And, for it to be released this day, I don't believe in coincidences", Merritt told NBC DFW.

The narrative imposed on instances of police profiling and violence are already blatantly racist and based around victim-blaming and character assassination.

Now Dallas police have revealed what they removed from Botham Jean's residence. Many were also angered by a tweet from a local outlet of the conservative-leaning Fox News.

Guyger, 30, has been booked on an initial charge of manslaughter in last week's killing of Jean, whose funeral was Thursday, exactly a week after the deadly encounter. "But we're also counting on the community, many of whom are in downtown right now protesting, ensuring - not waiting for it - ensuring that will happen", the congressman said. Many are hoping that the incredible circumstances in this case will lead to a different end.
