US has no plan for Middle East peace, says senior Palestinian

A Palestinian man repairs a fishing net outside his house at Al-Shati refugee camp, in Gaza City September 1, 2018.

Addressing the "millions upon millions" of Americans who remain friends of Palestine, he hoped that "may we soon return to continue to be a symbol and a reflection of the historic relationship between the Palestinian and the American people".

"There were too many false realities that were created - that people worship - that I think needed to be changed", he said. "The whole world is rejecting their ideas. They are already implementing their plan by changing the terms of reference".

"All they've done is have their hand out asking for money, badmouth the United States, not come to the table on the peace deal - why would we have a PLO office?" she explained.

Prior to ordering the mission's closure, the United States cut more than $200 million in aid to the Palestinians and canceled its support for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

"The only thing this administration did since it came to office is just to take Israelis and Palestinians off the path to peace, off the path of the two-state solution", Erekat said.

The State Department said the U.S., the largest funder of UNRWA, would "no longer commit further funding to this irredeemably flawed operation".

Every sixth case involved a rape and at least 1,670 clergy were involved, the report also reveals. As you can imagine, more people are reading The Jerusalem Post than ever before.

"Wait until the peace plan is released, and when it's released, please read it cover to cover and judge the plan on its merits - not on rumors, not on speculation, not on news reports, but on what's in it", one of the USA negotiators, Jason Greenblatt, said Thursday on Twitter.

Uniquely, UNRWA grants refugee status to all descendants of Palestinians who left or fled Israel with the establishment of the state in 1948, swelling the number to an estimated five million at present, when the number of actual refugees from that conflict is estimated to be in the low tens of thousands.

The remarks echoed what Israeli leaders have been saying for years-that the Palestinians' hard-line positions and the worldwide community's tacit acceptance of them had created an impassible roadblock to peace.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization's mission is shown September 10, 2018 in Washington, DC.

"We will not miss this last opportunity to talk to you", Zomlot said, adding, "While the decision by the Trump administration to close our mission is unfortunate and vindictive, it was unsurprising to us".

Despite being wholly dependent upon the goodwill of Israel, the Arab states and Western power-brokers, the Palestinian Authority has seemingly done its best to alienate each and every one.

The poll's responses track with statements and actions by Palestinian leaders such as Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, who has boycotted the Trump administration since the United States announced its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and subsequently moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Both sides claim it as a capital.
