Trailer drops for 'Mad Men' creator Matthew Weiner's new series 'The Romanoffs'

"You'd think that royal blood dilutes over time, but the poison survives", says Radha Mitchell's character in the new trailer for Matthew Weiner's forthcoming Amazon Prime anthology, The Romanoffs.

While the teaser focused on the series' stacked cast, the trailer sheds some light on its story.

It's about people who believe they're descendants of Russia's celebrated (and much-assassinated) Romanoff royal family. Some of them relish in the fact that they come from royal blood, while others find it problematic.

The show will feature eight different storylines set in seven countries around the world.

Rather than pushing up toward western Virginia, the storm's center is now predicted to move across the middle of SC . Up to 35 inches of rain could fall through early next week over parts of the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic states.

"The Romanoffs is an ambitious event series that will be the first-ever anthology released weekly on Prime Video", said Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios.

The first episode, entitled The Violet Hour, stars Eckhart, Marthe Keller, Ines Melab and Louise Bourgoin and is set in Paris, where an ancestral home holds the key to a family's future.

Called "The Romanoffs", it's an anthology series that is created, written, directed and executive produced by nine-time Emmy award victor Weiner, featuring eight separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the famous Russian royal family. Starring Aaron Eckhart, Diane Lane, Isabelle Huppert, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Amanda Peet, Jack Huston, Kathryn Hahn, Noah Wyle, Paul Reiser, Andrew Rannells and more. However one thing is clear: with its auteur creator, multiple locations, and stars of all stripes, the series has something to attract nearly everyone.
