Naholo, Barrett shine as All Blacks beat Wallabies 38-13

The Wallabies are well covered for back-row replacements, with fellow specialist openside flanker David Pocock able to slot seamlessly into Hooper's void after starting at No.8 and 2018 Super Rugby champion Pete Samu at the ready on the bench.

It is unclear whether the monster prop will travel with teammates to Auckland for next weekend's second Bledisloe clash against New Zealand at Eden Park.

Aaron Smith grabbed the All Blacks' first try late in the first half, with Barrett and Brodie Retallick also crossing after the break to bruise the Wallabies' confidence for a third successive Rugby Championship opener in Sydney.

Either Anton Lienert-Brown or Ngani Laumape will start at No 12 for New Zealand next weekend while All Blacks coach Steve Hansen is condering calling Hurricane centre Vince Aso into his squad.

"Yes, set piece has a part in handling momentum. We respect what they are building towards, it's going to be a hell of a game".

Crotty was "knocked out" in a head clash with midfield mate Jack Goodhue early in the match and definitely won't play in Auckland; while Ioane strained his hamstring in the breakout that led to Goodhue's try and also looks a certain defection.

Love live the queen ". "I grew up on MTV and this is really like a tremendous honor for me", said J.Lo. But the trophies were mostly in technical categories, including choreography and direction.

They held on to prevent the Wallabies crossing the line in the first half, restricting them to penalties for Reece Hodge and Bernard Foley.

A team spokesman would neither confirm nor deny the injury before the match in a clear sign the Wallabies were deliberately trying to keep it quiet from their rivals.

However, fly-half Beauden Barrett missed the conversion and the Australians went into the break up 6-5.

New Zealand then ran away with the match after Haylett-Petty dropped the ball in front of Barrett, who soccered it forward for a try then added the conversion.

Jack Maddocks scored a consolation try for Australia after making his worldwide debut from the bench but Naholo responded with two tries in two minutes to complete the All Blacks' late surge.

He praised Australia's first-half defence but was unimpressed by the Wallabies second-half showing.
