The Spanish top flight has entered into a 15-year deal with Relevent Sports, a U.S. promoter, to form a new organisation, LaLiga North America, which it says "will work to cultivate soccer culture" on the continent.

Competitive fixtures will form part of the agreement, offering a new audience the opportunity to catch superstar performers from Barcelona and Real Madrid - such as Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale - in action.

However, reports in the United States said it could happen as early as this season, with Miami mentioned as a possible venue.

The league gave few details on the planned regular-season game.

La Liga president Javier Tebas called it a "ground-breaking agreement".

The Spanish Footballers Association has issued a statement in which it goes against the decision by LaLiga to play league matches outside Spain, an agreement now in place with the U.S. company Relevent.

Kyle Kuzma believes with LeBron, Lakers don't need to be patient
But despite the change, some things remain the same. "It is not necessarily always a bad thing", Kuzma added. For the young guys, Kuzma doesn't believe that their age will slow the Lakers down at all this season.

'Joining with Relevent to create LaLiga North America is a major milestone in our worldwide expansion strategy, ' Oscar Mayo, the league's global development director, said in a statement.

The agreement also encompasses rights to all La Liga business and development activities, including marketing, youth academies, and other areas to expand La Liga's footprint in the U.S.

Since 2012, the Spanish league has been on BeIN Sports, which was received by less than a quarter of American English-language television households even before it was dropped by the Comcast Xfinity cable system.

"This extraordinary joint venture is the next giant leap in growing soccer's popularity in North America", Stephen Ross, chairman and owner of Relevent, said in a statement released on La Liga's official website .

La Liga have struck a deal with Relevent, an entertainment promotion group, to form a project called "La Liga North America" with which they hope to promote European football culture in the USA and Canada.
