Woman tells police she's a 'clean, thoroughbred, white girl'

She told officers that she never had a brush with the law because she was a ideal student, high school cheerleader and sorority sister.

According to the report, Cutshaw said, "I'm a white, clean girl".

Also, "she repeatedly stated, 'my partner is a cop, '" and said she'd been trying to get to her boyfriend's house when she was pulled over early Saturday.

The police report also described the woman's eyes as "bloodshot and glossy", and stated she was slurring her words and noted the smell of alcohol from the vehicle.

According to a Bluffton Police Department report obtained by the local Island Packet newspaper, Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw, 32, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. after she was seen blowing through a stop sign at a four-way intersection at 60 miles per hour.

When asked how full the glasses were, she replied, "I mean I was celebrating my birthday".

"I'm a white, clean girl", Cutshaw reportedly told the arresting officers.

Cutshaw responded, "You're a cop, you should know what that means".

When officers approached the woman's vehicle, they noticed that the driver's eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy, she was slurring her speech and the interior of her auto reeked of alcohol.

As reports of Cutshaw's arrest circulated, some outraged Twitter users adopted the hashtag #PlasteredPeggy while posting about Cutshaw's alleged shocking sense of entitlement.

She was arrested nevertheless, with the officer listing her excuses because they "further demonstrate the suspect's level of intoxication". Despite her arguments she was arrested for driving under the influence as well as speeding, disregarding a stop sign, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia charges, according to the jail log.

Despite being such a clean, white woman, Cutshaw was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center from which she was released not long afterward, a little less clean and perhaps a bit wiser.
