Still in progress are issues like character optimisation, improving the server tick rate (when players are in close proximity, this rate slows down and can cause delays when picking up items, for example), improved anti-hack and anti-cheat solutions (hello, Sanhok), and faster and smarter matchmaking.

PUBG Corp. and developer Bluehole has published a new Xbox One update for PUBG today. "People who take a selfie with their ice cream and the van and post it online using the #PUBGVan hashtag will be entered into a competition to win prizes including Xbox Live codes, copies of PUBG and an Xbox One X, the most powerful console ever made". "Simply put, the game still has many unresolved issues", the developer said. Since we released PUBG as an Early Access game previous year, the game has grown exponentially, and we've been fortunate enough to have millions of incredibly passionate players like you.

If it's not cheaters bringing PUBG players down, it's a plethora of bugs according to the game's community.

Indonesian woman held captive in cave for 15 years, police say
The shaman faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of coercing a minor into intercourse and may face other charges, as well. Police identified the woman in a rocky jungle chasm near the village where she had been held since her disappearance in 2003.

PUBG Corp's announcement has the player base divided.

Fans and observers would say 6-12 months ago was the time to do something about it, before Fortnite arrived and ate PUBG's lunch (partly because PUBG, despite being the first big Battle Royale game, ran like trash), but it's better late than never, I guess.

Quality-of-life improvements are coming to colorblind mode. It's clear to all that the game is not the best optimized, no matter what platform it is being played on, and the hope will be that the quality of life updates that are being worked on will go some way to rectifying that. PUBG Corp doesn't indicate how long the campaign will last, but does promise transparency for the duration. Prior to a separate hotfix that added the analog movement feature, Xbox One players were restricted to the same movement options as those on the PC.
