Angelina Jolie Pitt wants divorce finalised by year's end

Angelina Jolie's spokesperson is speaking out to clarify why the actress is requesting child support from estranged husband Brad Pitt as part of their divorce settlement. Per NBC News, the actress is asking the court to compel Pitt to pony up because "the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half".

Pitt has kept a low profile in the past two years, while Jolie has recently been filming a sequel to fairytale drama Maleficent in London and directed a 2017 film about the 1970s Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia in which more than one million people died.

ET has reached out to Pitt's rep. She is not allowed to monitor the minor children's text messages with their father.

It's been almost two years since the once-untouchable celebrity entity known as Brangelina dissolved into just Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt after the actress filed for divorce.

Said another pal, "Brad has completely lived up to his commitments as far as child support and will continue to do so".

Category 4 Hurricane Hector heads toward Hawaii
Hector was a Category 3 storm early Sunday as it churned toward the Hawaiian Islands, an archipelago that includes the Big Island. Tuesday said Hector weakened in intensity, packing maximum sustained winds of 130 miles per hour, with occasional higher gusts.

"She has gotten a reputation of being very unreasonable throughout this divorce and things seems to be getting worse", the source adds.

However, a third source tells ET that Jolie's court filing on Tuesday was actually "designed to move the divorce process forward". "The motion today was created to move all of that forward".

But the Los Angeles Times quoted a source close to Pitt saying that it was all "a publicity stunt".

It's unclear, however, what "meaningful" support means in this context, as their "informal" agreement, as her lawyer describes, has yet to be made public. "It's deplorable that someone for their own selfish reasons leaked selective portions of the confidential and sealed court record to create an inaccurate and unfair picture of what is really happening".
