Two elderly men escape nursing home, found at heavy metal festival

Hordes of headbangers amassed in Germany for the world's largest heavy metal festival - among them, two elderly men who apparently left their retirement home to rock out, police said.

The nursing home alerted police after the two went missing.

The Deutsche Welle reports the nursing home told police that the two men were missing from their rooms. Police later discovered the men "disoriented and dazed"- at a heavy metal festival. The facility contacted police shortly after the men's disappearance and they were located safe and sound at the festival, though they were a little "disorientated".

And they were none too pleased to be heading home early. But they were sent back to the home in a taxi - escorted by a patrol vehicle, Deutsche Welle reported.

And thrilled Twitterati ruled that the case proved you are truly never too old to rock. Besides, why the fuck is it anyone's business if two old dudes want to go see Danzig and Judas Priest?

It turns out the the pair were heavy metal music fans from way back and had nicked off to join the 75,000-strong crowd at the four-day Wacken Open Air festival.
