CBI issued notice in Muzaffarpur shelter-home sex scandal case

Another incident of sexual abuse at a shelter home in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria came into light after police rescued 24 girls from there on Monday. Eighteen inmates are still missing.

"We are doing unbiased probe in the matter and those found guilty will not be spared".

In July 2018, it was revealed that 34 girls were in a state-run shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur were subjected to continued rape, torture and assault by the staff of the shelter home. Some police officers have been suspended, the government said.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court also restrained the media from showing, even in morphed form, images of the alleged victims of rape and sexual assault at a shelter home in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, observing they can not be compelled to "relive the trauma" again and again.

Reportedly, out of the registered 42 inmates of the facility, only 24 were found.

It was after this that the police conducted a raid at the shelter home, where 24 girls had been rescued. Sometime a white vehicle, a red or a black auto would come. "In the year 2016 astonishing number of 38, 947 rapes were committed which means 106 rapes a day...every six hours somebody is raped...look somebody has to wake up. these incidents must stop", Justice Lokur said. While there are many questions that need immediate answering, we are glad that the girls have been saved.

The SP Deoria has been directed by the UP police headquarters in Lucknow to take stern action against the culprits.

That's higher than " pre-industrial temperatures " with sea level higher by 10-60 metres than it is today. The team also claims that sea levels in such a climate change would be 30-200-feet higher than today.

Cops have recorded her statement and the matter is being investigated. "There was a complaint about this shelter home for women for a long time".

Apparently much to the discomfiture of the State government, the Public Relations Department of the Governor's office also ensured that those letters got adequate coverage in media.

One girl reportedly said she had been beaten and starved when she tried to resist, while others were given food laced with sedatives and forced to sleep naked. "The inquiry will be done under proper legal procedure", ADG Law and Order Anand Kumar said in Lucknow.

"But the manager was running the home and told us that the high court has given a stay". "The ruling party has a history of shielding the accused of sexual assault like they did in Unnao rape case where MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was given a clean chit by the state police and later arrested by the CBI".

The NGO running the shelter home in Muzaffarpur was blacklisted and the girls were shifted to shelter homes in Patna and Madhubani. He also said the government has already handed over the probe to the CBI.

Meanwhile, the opposition has been attacking the Adityanath-led BJP government on the issue.
