Lucas Digne Speaks Out On Tattoo, Taunts Liverpool, Fans Respond

Everton left-back Lucas Digne insists that his "I Never Walk Alone" tattoo has nothing to do with football and states that he has rejected two offers from Liverpool.

New Everton signing Lucas Digne has urged his former Barcelona team-mate Yerry Mina to turn down Manchester United in favour of joining him at Goodison Park, the Metro report.

The left-back explained that the tattoo is an homage to his parents who gave him a necklace with those words on it before his first day of school.

The French global revealed that he turned down the chance to move to the Reds on two occasions in the past and suggested that perhaps Liverpool fans were criticising him out of bitterness.

Reds fans were quick to highlight the coincidental nature of Digne's tattoo and the defender dismissed that he had inked the piece on his chest in tribute to Liverpool or the club's famous song and added that he had rejected moves to Anfield in the past.

During the almost seven days he was out alone, the man endured winds of up to 60km/h, freezing conditions and at times heavy snow. Rescue Co-ordination Centre NZ watch leader Neville Blakemore said it appeared the man was an experienced climber.

Digne told the Liverpool Echo: 'There is nothing about football, it is just about my parents.

Since the deal was completed, it has been revealed that the 25-year-old has a chest tattoo with the words "I never walk alone" written.

Digne started his career at Lille in 2011 and then joined Paris Saint-Germain two years later where he made 44 appearances.
