Liverpool prospect Rhian Brewster signs first professional contract

English wonderkid Rhian Brewster has signed a long-term contract at Liverpool, rejecting moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

The 18-year-old England youth global won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup, scoring eight goals to help his nation win the tournament in India, and Liverpool will be delighted to have secured his signature.

Moments afterwards, Brewster told Liverpoolfc.com: "It feels great".

The 18-year-old, who has been out since January due to an ankle injury, said that it was unfortunate for him to be out for such a long time as he was on a high after winning the Under-17 World Cup in India last year. It seems like I've been here my whole life, to be honest.

Brewster quickly progressed through the ranks at Kirkby after joining the Reds' Academy as a teenager and has starred for the U18s and U23s in recent seasons.

20 goals in 22 matches saw Brewster help the U17's win the Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cup past year, with the Liverpool man bagging the "Golden Boot". I [still] remember my first training session.

I can't wait to get started and get back fit'. "It's incredible and I can't wait to get started".

Speaking to reporters (via the official Liverpool website) at the club's training ground, Brewster expressed his happiness at extending his stay at the club and his further ambitions to succeed at the Anfield club.
