Chelsea sack Conte as manager

Conte took pre-season training this week but his future has been a source of contention and ex-Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri expected to take over.

Conte leaves Chelsea after just two years in charge, having won the FA Cup last term and the Premier League title in 2016-17 - his first season at the club.

It had been claimed that Cesc Fabregas would leave Chelsea to go in the other direction, but these reports are apparently wide of the mark.

He would have frozen out David Luiz, Willian and others, while Chelsea feared that Eden Hazard would not sign a new contract if Conte stayed on and were anxious by his relationship with key players.

But now it seems a deal has finally been agreed with Sarri, meaning he will become the ninth full-time manager since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.

But Willian might not be the only current Chelsea player that will be glad to see the back of Conte.

Papa John's to pull founder from marketing
The company can not afford to alienate customers, with sales already under pressure from rivals such as Domino's. A Papa John's spokesperson confirmed to the BBC that it will erase its founder's image from all advertising.

His intense training methods angered senior players and he alienated the board with a disparaging treatment of Spanish striker Diego Costa and constant carping over the club's failure to replace top players with those of similar ability.

Antonio Conte was finally sacked as Chelsea manger today in what was perhaps the least surprising news since Donald Trump announced he was coming to Britain and, in response, Britain chose to construct a giant inflatable orange baby to fly over his head whilst he was traipsing around pretending to look important. Great man, Great manager. It wasn't easy for me to convince you in the beginning but in the end I hope I did you proud!

Jorginho was one of Napoli's best players in finishing second in Serie A last season to Juventus.

The main reason for the prolonged saga has been compensation.

Conte vacated his position after two years in charge of the London club.

Piotr Zielinski, Jorginho and Lorenzo Insigne have also flourished with Sarri at the helm. And now as things stand, they are of the thought that Napoli are using the midfielder to ease Sarri's move to Chelsea.
