Wimbledon not moving men's final

Roger Federer has played down the prospect of a clash between the Wimbledon and World Cup finals by joking that football fans in Moscow will be distracted by the tennis.

The organisers of Wimbledon are standing their ground though as it has been revealed that the men's singles final will go ahead at the traditional time of 2.00pm (BST), despite the World Cup final taking place a couple of hours later at 4pm (BST).

However, he did offer a way that fans would be able to watch the game if they wanted to; albeit not quite with the same communal atmosphere as a big screen showing.

The Wi-Fi worked brilliantly, that's an indication we are supporting it, we're not turning the strength of the signal down.' Recalling what happened last weekend with England playing at the same time when matches were being played at Wimbledon, Lewis added: 'Saturday was a fantastic day at the championships, one of the best days I can remember.

There had been talk of the World Cup final being shown on the big screen on Henman Hill at Wimbledon, but that has been ruled out.

Last Saturday, England made the semi-finals with victory over Sweden as action at Wimbledon took place.

Sarah Palin claims Sacha Baron Cohen duped her for talk
Her lengthy Facebook rant ended with a high school level jab: "By the way, my daughter thinks you're a piece of ****, Sacha ". Palin hit the headlines in 2008 when Republican presidential nominee John McCain chose her as his running mate.

Officials at the All-England lawn tennis Club aka Wimbledon have confirmed that they won't be rescheduling next Sunday's men's singles final even though it'll likely be overlapped by the World Cup final.

"I´m more concerned the World Cup final will have issues because the Wimbledon final is going on", said the eight-time champion after seeing off France´s Adrian Mannarino in straight sets on Monday.

Mobile phones and other devices can be used by the crowd, giving spectators the option of watching the World Cup final as well.

"You can tell when England scored and it was wonderful but we didn´t receive any complaints that the enjoyment of tennis had been spoiled".

"People followed the football on their devices thanks to modern technology without disturbing other spectators".

But Wimbledon organizers are keeping a stiff upper lip, refusing to show any football on the tournament's big screen, in an attempt to reign in any ungentlemanly behavior.
