Luka Modric slams English media following Croatia win

Luka Modric slams English media following Croatia win

Perisic went extremely close to giving Croatia the lead a few minutes later but his curling shot struck the bottom of the far post and was cleared by England, who were now hanging on. "You are not going to get away with that in a World Cup semi-final".

With his first global goal, just over a year after his England debut, the 27-year-old Trippier joined David Beckham as the only English players since 1966 to score on free kicks at the World Cup. I'm hugely proud of what we've done - I couldn't have asked for any more.

However, they have taken a gruelling route to the final and the French will be warm favourites.

As for England, their challenge faded badly after taking the lead in the semi-final and in the end, they simply could not compete against a hungrier Croatia team.

Despite the much-vaunted attack of teenager Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann, France's defense proved the difference as they shut down Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku and they showed they will be hard to beat on Sunday.

World Cup Daily: Croatia's dream goes on while England wake up.

GOALS: Trippier 5′, Perisic 68′, Mandzukic 109′.

Adam 'Pacman' Jones Fights & Knocks Out Airport Employee
In January of 2017, Jones was arrested after Cincinnati police say he assaulted a security guard in front of the Millennium Hotel. However, Jones was not in the wrong this time, as police determined that the airport employee was the instigator of the fight.

This was the biggest challenge of Jordan Henderson's career.

Jenas and Modric played in midfield together at Spurs, though the Croatian has gone on to hit even greater heights, winning the Champions League four times and La Liga once with Real Madrid.

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic made one change from the side which beat Russian Federation on Saturday with Marcelo Brozovic coming in for Andrej Kramaric.Croatia got off to the worst possible start when in just the 5th minute Kieran Trippier curled in a free kick to the top right corner from just outside the box to give England a 1-0 lead.

In the ninth minute of extra time, a corner gave England defender Stones a glorious header on goal - but Croatia dedender Šime Vrsaljko was able to head it away.

Midfielder Modric said the team had been motivated by people saying they would be "tired" after their previous two matches went to penalty shootouts.

Before this, Croatia's best finish was third place in France 1998, its first-ever World Cup appearance. They now have the chance to avenge that loss and become the ninth nation to win a World Cup final.

The players applauded and thanked the travelling supporters in Moscow after the match but the fans didn't stop making noise there.
