Interestingly, Crenshaw is known for painting colourful artworks using his feet, said a local news report.

Just after midnight, Miami Beach Police say, Crenshaw clutched a pair of scissors with his feet and stabbed Cesar Coronado, 22, who was visiting Miami from Chicago, reports the Miami Herald.

Crenshaw's arrest record dates to 2008 and lists arrests for disorderly intoxication, vandalism, and battery on police officers, firefighters and city code inspectors.

An armless homeless man in Miami, Florida has been charged with stabbing a Chicago tourist with scissors.

The Miami Herald reports police found Coronado bleeding from his left arm.

The ACLU's Gelernt said during a court hearing on Friday that it was "startling" that the government can not find some parents. Sabraw showed little appetite for giving more time to the government unless it could show good reasons in specific cases.

Police said the victim's friend told officers that the victim was asking Jonathan Dale Crenshaw, 45, for directions when Crenshaw pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim.

Crenshaw was treated at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

But a female friend who was traveling with Coronado told a different story. "I came for a vacation", Coronado told the Miami NBC station."I just said, 'do you know where this is?' but as soon as I talked, the only thing he reacted was - he just cut me". To defend himself, the homeless man stabbed Coronado twice with the scissors, put them back into his waistband and then walked out.

Crenshaw was booked for battery charges on Tuesday night and his bond was set at $7,500, according to Miami-Dade Corrections.
