Britain's Prince Louis christened without Queen

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were not present at the christening of their sixth great-grandchild Monday afternoon, according to a guest list released by Kensington Palace earlier in the day.

They include the Duchess' cousin Lucy Middleton and Guy Pelly, a childhood friend of William's.

The youngsters stole the show, with Charlotte - who was dressed in a blue dress - sticking her tongue out and waving her arms around.

If the moniker sounds familiar, you should know that it previously belonged to the late Princess Diana.

Charlotte's hair also looked be longer compared to her last official appearance at Trooping the Colour in May, suggesting she may be growing out her locks.

Nevertheless, only time will tell.

The Choir of Her Majesty's Chapel Royal performed This is the day which the Lord hath made, which was composed for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011, and Suo Gan, a traditional Welsh lullaby.

Buckingham Palace say the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will miss the christening in a decision which was mutually agreed by the Queen and the Cambridges some time ago.

Prince Harry attended the christening for Prince Louis Arthur Charles alongside his new wife, Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, reported Page Six.

Prince William and his wife Catherine's third child Prince Louis has been christened in the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace.

William encouraged George and Charlotte to "shake hands" with the Archbishop of Canterbury, before telling her: "Well done".

From the duchess's side, Kate's parents Michael and Carole, brother James, pregnant sister Pippa and her husband James Matthews were there.

Prince Louis was born on April 23 and is the younger brother to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 3.

Welby used the Lily Font, commissioned by queen Victoria for the baptism of her first child in 1841.

The event is a special one for Prince William too, who became a fourth generation RAF member and spent active duty as a search and rescue helicopter pilot.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also announced their youngest son's godparents a few hours before the service.
