UK PM Seeks Unity Amid Turmoil Over Brexit Strategy

Earlier on Monday, Ireland's Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed said that the focus of the Irish government is on Mrs May's engagement with the European Union and dismissed suggestions that Mr Davis' exit from the cabinet will throw the Prime Minister's latest plan into disarray.

At a meeting with Conservative lawmakers on Monday, she was cheered and applauded by many, having warned them that internal squabbling could pave the way for socialist opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn to take power instead. They quit amid divisions in the government over Brexit.

Britain's foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, announced his resignation shortly after.

Brexit secretary David Davis quit on Sunday following crunch talks at Chequers, saying the agreed trade position for the white paper meant "we are giving too much away too easily and that's a risky strategy at this time". This is a point that supporters in the British government of the so-called hard Brexit and the ruling Conservative Party had previously ruled out.

The Government went on to explain that it held Brexit discussions with senior officials from the UK Government yesterday afternoon, as the two Governments continue to work closely together going forward. Hunt's post of health secretary has been taken over by culture, media and sport secretary Matt Hancock, as May struggled to keep control of dissenting voices within her top team.

Hours later UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson resigned over the political crisis.

Although it has caused a headache, May was quick to capitalize on the fact that two of her biggest problems extricated themselves from her inner circle; she ceremoniously replaced Davis and Johnson with more amiable substitutes.

Sir Vince Cable claimed "if" Brexit day ever happens it will be "a day of mourning" during a shock attack in the House of Commons.

'Indiana Jones 5' Release Date Pushed Back By Disney
That latter date of February 12, 2021 , now belongs to an untitled Marvel movie, which was originally scheduled for July. Steven Spielberg is set to direct the latest " Indiana Jones " film, with Harrison Ford also reprising his role.

With less than nine months until Britain is due to leave the bloc, May is sticking to her plan for a "business friendly" Brexit.

"I am sorry - and a little surprised - to receive (the letter) after the productive discussions we had at Chequers on Friday, and the comprehensive and detailed proposal which we agreed as a cabinet", May said in her reply to Johnson.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, the staunchest of Brexit hardliners, went so far as to say that May's Chequers deal is worse than a no-deal hard Brexit, something that would see Britain crashing out of the European Union with no trade deal and the rights of European Union citizens within the United Kingdom disappearing overnight (and vice-versa).

Taking charge of the Foreign Office, Hunt said he would be standing "four square" behind the Prime Minister "so that we can get through an agreement with the European Union based on what was agreed by the Cabinet last week at Chequers".

Other pro-Brexit Cabinet ministers said they supported May and would not resign.

"We negotiate with the negotiators", he said.

Under Conservative Party rules, a confidence vote in a leader can be triggered if 48 Conservative lawmakers write a letter requesting one.

Boris's resignation letter is scathing.
