Father of doctor involved in Thailand cave rescue dies

The dozen players - aged 11 to 16 - and the coach had already received an invitation from Federation Internationale de Football Association chief Gianni Infantino last week to attend the World Cup final on Sunday in Moscow - although after their traumatic experience they may not be up to the trip physically or mentally.

Meanwhile, Manchester United invited the boys to game at their home stadium Old Trafford next season while Portugese team Benfica invited the Wild Boars to an expenses-paid week at its training academy. The group entered the cave June 23 but flooding cut off the exit. Once they were inside, the tunnels behind them flooded after heavy rain. The rescue mission is still underway. The boys' ordeal has captivated the world's attention.

Trained divers from the USA, the U.K., Canada and elsewhere flew to Thailand to offer their expertise and help escort the team out through the flooded cave passages.

"If you take a step back and you look at it ... it's not about boundaries, it's not about race or religion", Oupra said.

Musk has expressed his desire to help with rescue efforts on social media, and orchestrated the creation of what he called a "kid-size submarine". Each boy was equipped with a full-face mask designed for novice divers and then paired with two divers who carried oxygen tanks.

Osatanakorn stepped down as the governor of Chiang Rai during the rescue operation, but remained its commander.

The final day of the operation began just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday as the first eight boys, freed in operations on Sunday and Monday, recuperated at a hospital in nearest Chiang Rai city.

Elon Musk posted photos and video from inside the cave in Thailand where four boys and their soccer coach remain trapped.

The final group of four boys and their 25-year-old coach were brought out Tuesday.

Other pro-Brexit Cabinet ministers said they supported May and would not resign. "We negotiate with the negotiators", he said. Britain's foreign secretary, Boris Johnson , announced his resignation shortly after.

Twelve boys and their football coach had no serious health concerns Wednesday morning after the last group of five was successfully rescued from a flooded northern cave and transferred to hospital last night.

Nearly all of the rescued were flown in helicopters, then driven in ambulances to a Chiang Rai hospital.

They are still being quarantined from their parents because of the risk of infection and would likely be kept in hospital for a week to undergo tests, officials said.

The news was greeted by global jubilation and the rescue workers were lauded.

The boys were given anti-anxiety medication before they were rescued, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha revealed, according to The Associated Press.

"When I saw the diver and the kid on the horizon, I still didn't know if it was a casualty or if it was a kid so I was very scared", said Ivan Karadzic, one of the rescuers inside the cave.

"I have to praise the coach who took care of the players very well", the doctor said. Thai and foreign divers safely led the other eight youngsters out of the cave earlier in the week.

"All Wild Boars Saved", read one headline.
