Riyad Mahrez: Manchester City sign winger from Leicester for £60m

Claude Puel, the Leicester manager, is preparing for Mahrez's exit and has left the winger at home while the squad trains in Évian-les-Bains.

It's suggested the Algeria worldwide is undergoing a medical with the Premier League champions.

Here is the photograph - is it Riyad Mahrez?

The two clubs have agreed a fee of £60m for the 27-year-old and talks have now been completed between the two sides, with Mahrez due in the north west for a medical at the start of next week.

Mahrez was given extra time off by the Foxes after playing in Algeria's global games in June and had been set to return to pre-season training before confirmation of his move to City.

Reports in the Liverpool Echo last week claimed that ex-Reds' defender Phil Thompson has urged his former club to sign the Leicester man following his scintillating tournament, and it now remains to be seen whether an advance will be made after the World Cup. Pep is committed to playing attacking football, which is a ideal for me, and City's performances last season were outstanding.

European Medicines Agency recalls generic heart medication over safety fears
The agency is reviewing products containing valsartan supplied by Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceuticals, a company in Linhai, China. The HPRA says not all valsartan medicines are affected and is reassuring patients that other treatments are available.

With his quality on the ball, ability to take on opposition players and his extensive passing range, the youngster would soon make himself hugely popular among the King Power Stadium faithful.

The Premier League champions were on the verge of sealing Mahrez's deal in the winter, but the Foxes insisted on recouping about £100m for their prized asset.

"I think we can be successful over the coming years and I believe my own game can develop under Pep's management".

And Txiki Begiristain, City's director of football, says he is delighted to have finally captured one of the best players in the English top flight.

Mahrez joined Leicester from Le Havre for £400,000 in 2014, and was named the PFA Players' Player of the Year during their surprise Premier League triumph in 2015-16.

"His moments of magic will live long in the memory as the club and its fans continue to build a long-term legacy for the success delivered by the teams to which Riyad so memorably contributed".
