He's not the only one, mind you; Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have also "submitted to the culling", and posted the following pic via Instagram (h/t Screen Rant) to announce their return to social media.

Avengers 4 may still be more than 9 months away from release, but Infinity War's jaw-dropper of a cliffhanger ending has left fans intensely speculating about the ambitious sequel from the moment the end credits rolled. Featurettes explore the frighteningly powerful Thanos and two action-packed attempts to prevent his collection of all six Infinity Stones: the struggle on Titan and the massive battle in Wakanda. At the time of publication, more than 710,000 accounts had followed the subreddit, testing their luck as they waited to see whether they'd be banned or survive.

The actual "snap" itself was livestreamed on Amazon's Twitch, with Reddit engineers broadcasting to over 50,000 viewers as they activated a custom tool that banned hundreds of thousands of r/ThanosDidNothingWrong members, one by one.

Ever since this story began picking up traction late last week, "r/ThanosDidNothingWrong" has ballooned in size - there are precisely 627,413 "Black Order members" subscribed to the community at press time, a significant jump up from the 100,000-odd Redditors who helped bring this meme-worthy purge into the public eye. "In fact, most members of r/ThanosDidNothingWrong wanted to make Thanos proud by getting banned in the name of balance: "༼ つ ◕_ ◕ ༽つ GIVE BAN ༼ つ ◕_ ◕ ༽つ" has been a common refrain on Reddit, in the weeks leading up to the event. Even Josh Brolin, the actor who plays Thanos, got in on the fun by posting a short video. The fate of these banned members is unknown.
