Drake takes 7 spots on Billboard Top 10, breaking Beatles' record

According to Billboard, Drake's newest release launches at No.1 of the Billboard top 200 albums chart, opening with "the largest overall week of 2018 for any album".

Drake's influence comes off the back of his newly released album Scorpion, which made headlines for its marketing, which saw Spotify push the album to all of its users, featuring his new music across 30 of it's most followed playlists.

It looks like Drake's Scorpion has officially stung, with all 25 tracks from his latest album making the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and seven sitting comfortably in the Top 10.

His record label Republic Records announced this week that "Scorpion", Drake's fifth album, has crossed the one billion mark in total streams - a first for an album in its first week. Drake's other songs in the Top 10 are "God's Plan", "In My Feelings", "I'm Upset", "Emotionless" and "Don't Matter to Me", which includes previously recorded vocals from Michael Jackson.

What a difference from a week ago, when Federer's debut of new duds after splitting from Nike drew so many headlines. Del Potro was leading 7-6 (7/1), 7-6 (7/5), 5-7 when his tie with Simon was halted for the night due to darkness.

Over on the Billboard charts Drake also surpassed the late Michael Jackson as the artist with the most Hot 100 Top 10s in his career among solo males. "Nonstop" grabbed the top spot.

In Canada, Drake's album proved popular as well, bringing in 70,000 equivalent units.

Under the new calculations, 1,250 plays on paid subscription platform count for one album sale, while it takes three times that amount on a platform like Spotify's unpaid service with commercial breaks.
