Best of all, all episodes of the second season will be arriving sooner than we thought, and the creepy violence will kick off on Netflix from Friday 31 August.

Ozark's return comes a full 13 months after the release of Season 1, which bowed on Netflix in July 2017. Watch the Ozark season 2 trailer below. The running theme here seems to be that this season will ramp up the tension, and things will only grow more and more unpleasant for the main characters.

In that first season, Marty's choice was to get into the money laundering business.

Clocking in at a clipped 40 seconds, the footage sees Bateman and Linney back as Marty and Wendy Byrde, the husband-and-wife duo who will continue the risky journey out of the world of money laundering and drug cartel wars that they're now entrenched in.

Season 2 "continues to follow Marty Bryde and his family as they navigate the murky waters of life within a risky drug cartel".

And the consequences of the Byrde family's criminal ways will come via the arrival of a ruthless attorney (played by Jessica Jones' Janet McTeer), their relationship with the risky Snell family, and Ruth's (Julia Garner) father being released from prison. "He must complete his laundering, to save the life of his family, as they struggle to find their own path in this seemingly foreign way of life".

Ozark stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner, and season two newcomer Janet McTeer.
