Love Island star Sophie Gradon has passed away aged just 32

The reason for Gradon's death remains unknown.

Love Island host Caroline Flack led the many tributes to Gradon on Twitter, praising her as "a handsome soul".

Just hours before her death, Gradon had posted a loving message about Armstrong, whom she's understood to have started dating in the second half of 2017.

Ahead of Gradon's untimely death came after she and Armstrong returned from a holiday in the United Kingdom.

Gradon, also the victor of Miss Great Britain in 2009, made history on the dating show in 2016 as one half of Love Island's first same-sex couple, after she "coupled up" with fellow contestant Katie Salmon, The Guardian reports.

Sophie was best known for appearing on the show a year ago, alongside contestants including Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen.

And this year's Love Island dumpee Hayley Hughes said: "I'm lost for words right now! Such a handsome soul. such a attractive smile.thoughts and love with friends and family".

Several fans and former co-stars paid tribute to Gradon on Twitter.

They appeared to be very comfortable in one another's company, sharing jokes and a laugh during the day's events. It's understood the dress is by Givenchy , the same fashion house that made her wedding dress.

Olivia Buckland, who also appeared, wrote: "Awful very bad news this morning".

"Awful bad news this morning".

'The world has failed you attractive.

She tweeted: "You were such an intricate, creative, intelligent soul".

"I'm heartbroken for you Soph to have felt this pain. She was one in a million and I will always remember that speech she did on love island about women and empowering one another". I wish there was more help out there.

"My love and prayers to her family and friends and all others impacted". I can not work out what to say.

Nathan Henry tweeted: "Rest in peace you attractive little angel, the heavens are blessed with a handsome smile. I'm so lucky to have met you".

"Shocked beyond belief! RIP @sophiegradon sending all our love to Sophie's family at this incredibly sad time xx", Miss Great Britain's official Twitter account wrote.
