Brazil midfielder Fred suffers ankle 'trauma' in training

Brazil midfielder Fred has suffered an injury scare just one week before the World Cup in Russian Federation gets under way.

New Manchester United midfielder Fred was forced out of Brazil training with an ankle injury on Thursday.

The Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro was the instigator of a fairly clean, not inauspicious, tackle at Tottenham Hotspur's Enfield training base on the training pitch, seemingly catching Fred's right leg, resulting in damage to his ankle below.

A scan may be required as Brazil and team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar monitor Fred ahead of Sunday's final World Cup warm-up match against Austria. "Tomorrow we will know whether he will have to be further examined or not".

As his Fyre Festival co-hort Ja Rule would sing, McFarland best prepare for some good "Thug Lovin'". Hulu announced in April it was producing a documentary series about the Fyre Festival.

Lasmar is quoted by The Independent: "Today Fred had trauma in his ankle but it is too early to say anything about it".

Fred is a part of the Brazil squad getting ready for the World Cup that starts this week.

The Red Devils confirmed the midfielders arrival earlier this week after a £52m deal was agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk, despite reports earlier this year strongly linking the 25-year-old with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

After their group opener against the Swiss, Brazil take on Costa Rica in St Petersburg before travelling to Russian capital Moscow to face Serbia. He sat out training on Friday - Brazil's last session in London before they fly to Vienna - to work alone with medical staff.
