'Quantico' makers apologize for showing a Hindu terrorist after backlash

Calling herself a "proud Indian", Chopra said she is "extremely saddened" and that hurting sentiments of people was never her intention. "I sincerely apologize. I'm a proud Indian and that will never change".

ABC said it pulled the episode before it could air in India (it aired in the US on June 1). She finally took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the episode and apologise to fans online.

Some critics accused the show's writers of stereotyping and not understanding the complicated relationship between India and Pakistan.

The channel ABC also defended Chopra and issued a statement explaining the whole situation.

They continued: "Quantico is a work of fiction". It was not our intention to offend anyone'.

A recent episode of the spy thriller showed the main character, played by Ms Chopra, thwarting a plot hatched by Hindus ahead of a summit on Kashmir.

Deaths of famous by their own hands highlight troubling trend
Middle-age adults had the highest increase in suicides. "Kate suffered from depression and anxiety for many years", Andy said. A day after the report was published , celebrity chef and writer Anthony Bourdain also died by an apparent suicide.

It doesn't mean that we shouldn't write what we want.

"She got her identity as Miss World from India and now she is not doing good for the country", he added. "It was non-stop. It was bad".

Quantico will wrap after season three, which is now airing. Ratings have dwindled since it debuted in 2015.

There were many who felt that the outrage was misplaced since portraying Hindu nationalists in negative light wasn't same as branding the Hindu religion as the instigator of terrorism.

The statement read: "ABC Studios and the executive producers of "Quantico" would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, "The Blood of Romeo". Even after she had issued the apology, fans did not forgive her and said that it was 'damage control.' On the other hand, Priyanka found support amid the trolling.

Bhutto went on to share her talk from previous year that was centered on Muslim representation in Hollywood.
