Anthony Bourdain's death means loss of a voice for immigrant workers

Bourdain claimed all the best cooks in his NY restaurants came from there.

"I really got close to him after the birth of my daughter", Lakshmi said. Rest in peace, Tony, and the most honest condolences to Tony's beloved family.

Speaking to The Guardian in January 2017, Bourdain reflected on his chaotic life in the kitchens, saying he had finally "put aside my psychotic rage, after many years being very bad to line cooks, abusive to waiters, bullying to dishwashers".

But it wasn't just the Me Too movement that Bourdain threw his support behind.

Usually, the 61-year-old would eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel's pub, the Winstub, with Ripert, the executive chef at Manhattan's Le Bernadin. "We need to see", he tweeted in March 2012.

"This is killer", Obama told Bourdain, as he dove in for more. A Vassar dropout, he started working at a seafood restaurant in Provincetown, Mass., and fell in love with the pirate glamour of the kitchen underworld. "To have a man of his stature rise up and befriend me, it meant a lot to me".

Amid the shocking news of Anthony Bourdain suicide, his girlfriend Asia Argento has expressed her views on the social media.

Both Spade and Bourdain were vocal about their struggles with depression.

Just four months before the beloved chef died in his hotel room, he eerily spoke about death in an interview with People magazine.

And a source told People that Bourdain had a taxing work schedule as he filmed "Parts Unknown" in the months before his death.

The former chef spent about 250 days per year on the road travelling to different cities seeking out indigenous cuisine and the locals who make it.

"I gave up on that".

"It's impossible from the outside to every fully know what goes on in someone else's heart or in their head", Cooper said.

However, he also said he was "in much better shape than I've probably ever been", adding: "I travel 250 days a year". 'I will find myself in an airport for instance and I'll order a airport hamburger. And he meant not just in the film industry: "Right now, nothing else matters but women's stories of what it's like in the industry I have loved and celebrated for almost 30 years".
