Paddy Jackson Signs Two Year Deal With Perpignan

In a tweet this morning, the Catalan club's president said he was pleased to announce the new signing.

Paris - Former Irish global Paddy Jackson, axed by Ulster and Ireland following a rape trial, has signed for French club Perpignan on a two-year deal, the club said on Friday.

Jackson has not played since having his contract revoked by Ulster and Ireland in 2016.

The club had also, in recent times, been strongly linked to Springbok out-half Elton Jantjies - who, ironically, was thought to be replacing Jackson in Ulster for some time.

Ferris, who retired in 2014, said on Twitter: "Confirmed that my old Ulster team mate Paddy Jackson has signed for Perpignan". His former teammate Stuart Olding was set to follow.

The player's Ulster and Ireland contract was terminated despite he and Olding being unanimously acquitted of raping the same woman in June 2016.

Finally, Brive's new head coach Jeremy Davidson, persuaded him to join the French club, relegated from the French Top14 this season.
