GGG Willing To Have A 55-45 Split For Canelo

GGG Willing To Have A 55-45 Split For Canelo

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin's negotiations for a boxing rematch have collapsed following a dispute over the proposed purse, ESPN reported on Tuesday (June 5). "The Canelo train has left the station".

According to's Dan Rafael, Oscar De La Hoya is in talks with Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn to make a fight between Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs on September 15. "It's a fight that when I signed Daniel Jacobs, he told me he believes he beats Canelo every day of the week". "So we're just moving forward and making sure that Canelo has the toughest dance partner possible for Sept 15". Alvarez received a favorable 70-30 split in the revenue in that bout, and a rematch was planned for May 5 in Las Vegas before he twice tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol, leading to his six-month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. "I can't say he won't be Canelo's toughest fight". The issue appears to be Golovkin's refusal to back off his insistence on a 50-50 split in the revenue, something that is hard to fault him for given when Alvarez has subjected him to since their intriguing first meeting ended in an unsatisfying draw. Golovkin just wanted parity, a 50-50 split between the two competitors. "And after taking all the concessions before, doing it again is an insult to Gennady".

Golovkin was incensed. He verbally attacked Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), 27, of Mexico, and accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs in their first fight, even though he had no evidence. Golovkin knocked out fill-in opponent Vanes Martirosyan in two rounds.

Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) lost his WBA belt to Golovkin in a close decision in March 2017, but he impressed with his ability to go the distance and recover from a fourth-round knockdown.

Sharapova was hardly at her best right from the start, double-faulting three times to get broken in the opening game. I'm backing Halep to win in three sets. "But I will be, I think, more confident, because I have a lot of experience.

Gomez was traveling Wednesday from Los Angeles to Verona, New York, for Golden Boy's ESPN2-televised card on Friday night, but when reached during his layover in Chicago, he said he had spoken to Loeffler but did not know whether De La Hoya and Alvarez would be willing to return to the bargaining table.

Hearn is eager to make the fight happen. All I can say is that those two guys [Alvarez and Jacobs] are guys GGG already beat a year ago.
