Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun selected to play for India Under-19

Arjun's selection was on the cards all along as the left-handed all-rounder was a part of the core group of U-19 players who attended a camp at the Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) and played matches in Una recently. He has shown a plenty of promise as a fast bowler - which incidentally Sachin had aspired to be at one point - and even sent Jonny Bairstow limping with a yorker while bowling in the nets during the England-South Africa Test series in 2017.

Arjun had been picked in the Mumbai Under-19 one-day side for the JY Lele invitational tournament in September past year. India are due to play two four-day and five one-day matches against the island nation.

India U-19 squad for 2 four-day games: Anuj Rawat (C), Atharva Taide, Devdutt Padikkal, Aryan Juyal (WK), Yash Rathod, Ayush Badoni, Sameer Choudhary, Siddharth Desai, Harsh Tyagi, YD Mangwani, Arjun Tendulkar, Nehal Wadhera, Akash Pande, Mohit Jangra, Pawan Shah. Arjun also bowled in the India nets during the home series against New Zealand past year.

With his tally of 18 wickets from five Cooch Behar Trophy (National U-19) games, Tendulkar Junior is 43rd in the list of wicket-takers for the season.

Delhi's Anuj Rawat will lead the side in the four-day format while Aryan Juyal has been named skipper for the limited-overs ties. He had one five wicket haul (5/95) against MP. Interestingly, he will groomed under Rahul Dravid now who is the coach of the U19 team which won the World Cup earlier this year.
