Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant reported that Queen Maxima was shocked and devastated by the news of her sister's death.

The royal house said that the Queen is "very shocked and very sad" by the news. After finding the young woman unconscious they called Argentinian authorities who proclaimed her dead.

Inés Zorreguieta was found dead at her home in Buenos Aires and, according to the RVD, she may have committed suicide.

It said Maxima was close to her sister, who was 13 years younger.

Inspectors found mouse droppings on and inside hamburger buns and chicken sandwich rolls, as well as throughout the restaurant. In addition to the droppings, flies were coming from a drain close to where the rolls and buns were stored.

The royal couple will travel on Friday to Argentina for the funeral this weekend.

A spokesperson for the Dutch government confirmed the news to La Nación: "We can confirm that Inés Zorreguieta, sister of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, died on Wednesday night".

Zorreguieta was a psychologist who once worked for an office on social policies at the president's office.

Queen Maxima, 47, also has two brothers, Martin and Juan, and three half siblings. Reports of her receiving medical treatment for problems with her diet and depression began circulating when she returned to the country. Her father Jorge Zorreguieta, Argentina's former agriculture minister, died previous year. She has since canceled her forthcoming engagements including a state visit to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next week.
