Will Smith to Perform Official Anthem for 2018 FIFA World Cup

The song, which is being produced by Diplo (famed for hits Lean On and Cold Water with his group Major Lazer) is set to be released on May 25, according to Billboard.

Every World Cup needs a banging World Cup anthem to go with it and long behold, it appears as though the legend that is Will Smith is providing it this year. Reggaeton producer DJ Nelson first hinted at the news with Vibe, before further confirmation came in.

The 4 are believed to have filmed the video for the World Cup observe over the weekend.

The rapper has allegedly teamed up with American artist Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istref for the 2018 FIFA World Cup song.

Past anthems include Shakira's 'Waka Waka' at the 2010 World Cup and Pitbull alongside Jennifer Lopez's We are one (Ole Ola) at the 2014 edition. However, he's certainly proven his ability to make catchy anthems, especially when they're tied to big projects - think "Men In Black" and "Wild West West".

Coca-Cola have already released their song "Colours" by Jason Derulo for the tournament.
