Guardiola Extends Manchester City Stay To 2021

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has signed a new long-term contract with the club, it was confirmed on Thursday.

But despite his goalscoring exploits, Liverpool still finished 25 points behind Premier League winners Manchester City, crashed out of the FA Cup fourth round to relegated West Brom and lost to Leicester City in the League Cup third round.

"I am so happy and excited", he said.

"Then we'll try to come back stronger than this season", added the 47-year-old Spaniard.

"The players are trying to help me a lot now to score goals, because they know now I am in for the Golden Boot".

An estimated 100,000 Manchester City supporters filled the sun-kissed streets of the city to hail their team as they paraded the English Premier League trophy on Monday (May 14).

The agreement runs until 2021 - his initial deal was up next year.

His team won the Premier League by 19 points last season, setting a number of records in the process, and his new deal will nearly certainly make him the highest paid manager in English football.

Trump's hard tack against the nuclear deal, while welcomed by Israel , has stirred fears of a possible regional flare-up. Iran's Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israel's attacks and called it a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty.

This deal is the longest commitment Guardiola has made a football club since taking charge of Barcelona in 2008.

"We are delighted to announce the extension of Pep's contract through to 2021", City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said.

Guardiola has been granted a seemingly more favourable working environment in Manchester to realise this vision, free form the behind-the-scenes politicking at Barcelona and the over-arching influence of former players at Bayern. "There is more work to do and having Pep committed to Manchester City for the next three seasons gives us the stability to be able to continue our journey to lovely football and success for the club".

I am very much looking forward to the continued impact of his work and to fulfilling our shared ambitions in the coming seasons.

24 - Manchester City won the most points in matches between the big six with 24, Arsenal claimed the fewest (6).

Famous for its lucrative television deals, the Premier League payed £75,583,666 to each club from income garnered from domestic and worldwide TV packages, with Sky and BT Sport forking out a combined £5.136 billion for the domestic rights for the three seasons of the Premier League from 2016 to 2019 and global broadcasters paying in excess of £3 billion, and and additional £4,838,892 each from Premier League sponsorship deals.

Completing five years at the Abu Dhabi-owned club would represent Guardiola's longest tenure in a coaching job.

The video shows Guardiola discussing preparing his players for the season ahead, with shots from behind the scenes at City's training facilities as well as scenes from inside the dressing room on match days.
