Gardai Find Body In Search For Missing Ana

There's an appeal for witnesses following the discovery of a young woman's body in a disused house on the Clonee Road in Lucan this afternoon.

The body remains at the scene is now preserved pending a full Garda technical examination.

Anastasia Kriegel, 14, was last seen in St Catherine's Park in Lucan, west Dublin, at 5.30pm on Monday. They are investigating if Anastasia was with someone when she was last seen.

A BODY has been found during the search for a missing girl in Dublin.

It is understood that she was found without her clothing and may have been beaten to death.

Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances of her death, but say it is being treated as suspicious.

"As you can imagine at this time (her family) are receiving a lot of support from An Garda Siochana but they are extremely distressed and they are also looking for the public assistance, and privacy at this time as well".

Gardai do not believe at this stage that Ana was alone in St Catherine's Park, but are continuing their inquiries.

"She was a very well known person in her school and to everyone in the community. But that's part of the investigation".

Asked were there concerns for other people in the Lucan area because of the violent nature of the crime, Supt Gordon, said he would always advise people to be careful.

He added the searching since Monday had been extensive.
