White woman calls the cops on black investor

Two police officers in Tennessee backed up a black real estate investor after a white neighbor called cops on him - the latest example of racial profiling incidents across the country.

The Memphis Police Department, whose officers are seen in the video explaining to the neighbor that Hayes had a right to be on the property, released a statement saying the video shows the officers responding to a complaint in a professional way.

Albert claimed that people had been using drugs in the vacant house before the city boarded up the windows.

Hayes says he was looking at a house he had under contract to buy in the University District. I'm about to hug her, I'm about to see my son.

Albert told Action News 5 that Hayes made it sound like she called the cops on him because of his race, but she insisted she is not racist. Hayes, she claimed, wouldn't show her paperwork or a business card until police showed up. "I mean, this is what we go through - [a] young black man out here trying to do what's right and we get the police called on us".

In the video, he said the woman continued to insult him after the police officer showed up. The video shows Hayes explaining why he was at the home to a Memphis police officer.

"This is what we go through", Hayes says to the camera.

One of the officers called the homeowner of the vacant house, who assured them that Hayes was supposed to be there. The woman, who is white, asked him what he was doing.

The AAP alleged that the police order proved that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misusing police to target his opponents. Kejriwal's former adviser VK Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present there.

At this point Hayes, who often records his activities as a real estate investor for his YouTube channel, pulled out his smartphone and started recording.

"You keep the camera rolling. If you have any problems with her, what I want you to do is call me back over here", said a white male officer. "You know why the lady called the police on me".

The officer then walks over to the woman's yard and talks to her, warning her to leave Hayes alone.

To which the woman replies: "I'm friends with the sheriff".

"I don't care if you're friends with the president", the officer said. They then asked the woman in the neighboring house to let him do his job. "Listen to me - if you try to do anything to stop him, I'm going to take you to jail".

The woman then told Hayes to hurry up with the job and get out of her neighborhood. But at the end of the day, she just did not want me in her neighborhood'.

At Hayes' request, the officers agreed to stay with him as he took photos of the home.
